First International Body Music Festival

Sounds kind of wierd right? Well, next week marks the first International Body Music Festival. This encompasses everything from steppers, body percussion, tap, human beat-boxers to a pair of Inuit women from the Arctic who throat-sing directly into each others mouths… and everything in between.

Atop Greenland's Suicide Cliff, from where old Inuit women used to hurl themselves when they felt they had become a burden to their community, a crack and a thud like thunder pierce the air.

Frozen face of hidden homelessness of Canadian Inuit

"Homelessness in The Territorial North, homeless people here, but because of long, bitter winters, they drift from one overcrowded dwelling to the next, rather than sleep on the streets.The report calls the territory’s housing shortage “hidden homelessness,” and links it with many social problems, such as domestic abuse of children and women."
